Why there is a check

Peppol rules make the access point responsible for who sends documents under a company's name. Before your first invoice can travel over the network, the access point must confirm that a person entitled to act for your company approved it. Invocourier's access point runs that check for you; you never need an account there, and the merchant-facing part is one page.

Who must do it

The legal representative of the company as registered in the KBO/CBE (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises), by name. Not any employee, and not the person who installed the app, unless they are the registered representative.

If you are not that person, open the check page anyway: it has a Forward to someone else option that emails the link to the representative.

What happens on the check page

How long it takes

If the automatic check passes, the company is verified at once; the app notices within five minutes and the card turns to Peppol delivery active. Invoices created in the meantime are numbered and archived, and they go out on their own once the check succeeds.

If the automatic check fails, the access point reviews the case by hand within 48 hours. During that time the card still shows the identity check as outstanding.

If the check is declined

Settings and Home show a red card, and the contact address in your settings receives an email. Usual causes:

Fix the cause, then click Redo the identity check: the page starts a fresh session. If the representative changed, update the KBO/CBE first.

The check link does not expire. If a session times out, the same page lets the representative restart it. Changing your VAT number or enterprise number in Settings resets the verification: the access point has to check the company again under the new identifiers, and the card goes back to identity check required.
